Booking

Booking a ride

A2B Lift connects you to professional, verified chauffeurs for on-demand rides and pre-scheduled transfers across South Africa.

How do I book a ride?
Open the A2B Lift app, enter your pickup address and destination, select your ride type (Standard, Premium, or XL), and tap "Request." You'll be matched with the nearest available verified chauffeur. You'll see the driver's name, photo, vehicle, and live location as they approach.
Can I schedule a ride in advance?
Yes. Tap the calendar icon on the booking screen to choose a future date and time. Scheduled rides are confirmed once a driver accepts, which typically happens within minutes of scheduling.
How do I cancel a booking?
Go to "My trips" in the app, select the active or scheduled ride, and tap "Cancel." Cancellations made more than 5 minutes after the driver has been dispatched may incur a small fee. Free cancellations are available within 2 minutes of booking.
What types of vehicles can I book?
A2B Lift offers three tiers: Standard (comfortable sedans, up to 4 passengers), Premium (luxury vehicles, up to 4 passengers), and XL (SUVs and minivans, up to 7 passengers). All vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and less than 5 years old.

The A2B Lift long-distance marketplace connects passengers with drivers making inter-city trips. Book a seat days or weeks in advance.

For passengers

Search by origin, destination, and date. Browse available drivers on the map, compare prices and ratings, and book your seat with instant card payment.

For drivers

Post your upcoming inter-city trip in the driver app. Set your price per seat and number of seats. Passengers find and book — you receive payment once the trip is confirmed.

Which cities are covered?
At launch: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria, and Polokwane. More cities are added as the driver network grows. Check back closer to your travel date — new routes are added daily.
What if my driver cancels?
You receive a full refund to your original payment method or wallet balance within 24 hours. The app will notify you of alternative drivers on the same route and date if available.
Are all long-distance drivers verified?
Yes. Every driver offering long-distance trips has completed A2B Lift's full chauffeur verification: valid PDP, certified police clearance, roadworthiness certificate, identity verification, and facial recognition.

Payments

Payments & wallet

A2B Lift uses Paystack — South Africa's most trusted payment platform — for all transactions. All payments are secure and fully tracked.

What payment methods are accepted?
A2B Lift accepts Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards, as well as payments from your in-app wallet. All cards are stored securely via Paystack — A2B Lift never stores your card details directly.
How does the wallet work?
Your wallet is an in-app balance you can use to pay for rides and long-distance bookings. Top up via card payment in the app. Wallet balances earn bonus reward points on every booking. Referral earnings are also credited to your wallet.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for cancelled trips are processed automatically within 24 hours. For disputes about completed trips, go to "My trips" → select the trip → "Report an issue." Our team reviews all disputes within 48 hours.
How do reward points work?
You earn reward points on every completed trip, wallet top-up, and referral. Points can be redeemed for ride credits at a rate of 100 points = R1. Points expire after 12 months of account inactivity.

How do I create an account?
Download the A2B Lift app or sign up on this website. Enter your name, email address, and a password, or sign in with Google. Your account is ready to use immediately after registration.
How do I reset my password?
On the login screen, tap "Forgot password?" Enter your email address and we'll send a reset link within 2 minutes. The link expires after 1 hour.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account. Account deletion is permanent and removes all personal data within 30 days in accordance with POPIA. Trip records may be retained in anonymised form for regulatory compliance.

Drivers

Everything you need to know about registering, getting approved, and earning on A2B Lift as a chauffeur.

What documents do I need to register?
You need: valid South African ID or passport, Professional Driving Permit (PDP), certified police clearance (not older than 6 months), vehicle roadworthiness certificate, a selfie for facial recognition, and your vehicle registration document.
How long does approval take?
Most applications are reviewed within 24–48 hours. You'll receive an email and app notification once your application is approved or if additional documents are required.
When and how do I get paid?
Earnings from completed trips are added to your driver wallet in real time. You can withdraw to your bank account at any time — withdrawals are processed within 1–2 business days. No minimum withdrawal amount and no withdrawal fee.
How do I set up long-distance availability?
In the driver app, go to Dashboard → Long Distance Availability. Toggle it on, enter your route details, price per seat, and available seats. Your route goes live immediately and appears in passenger search results.

Safety

Your safety is the highest priority for every A2B Lift trip. Here's how we keep you protected.

What safety features are available in the app?
During every trip you can: share your real-time location with a trusted contact, access the in-app emergency button (connects to emergency services), view your driver's verified identity and vehicle registration, and rate your driver after the trip. Long-distance trips generate a live tracking link automatically.
What if my driver asks for cash?
A2B Lift is a cashless platform. No driver is authorised to request cash. If a driver asks for cash, decline and report immediately via the app. This is a serious policy violation and will result in account suspension pending investigation.
How do I report an incident?
Go to "My trips" → select the trip → "Report an issue." For urgent safety matters, use the in-app emergency button during the trip, which connects to emergency services. Our safety team reviews all reports within 24 hours.
Are all drivers background checked?
Yes. Every A2B Lift driver must provide a certified police clearance certificate (issued within the last 6 months), pass a facial recognition identity check, hold a valid PDP, and have a roadworthy vehicle. Background checks are renewed annually.

Referrals

Referral programme

Earn ongoing commission when you refer riders or drivers to A2B Lift. The programme supports up to 5 levels of referrals.

How do I get my referral code?
Your referral code is available in the app under Profile → Referral Programme, or on the website after logging in at the referral page. Every account has a unique code assigned automatically at registration.
What commission percentages apply?
Commission is earned across up to 5 referral levels: Level 1 — 50%, Level 2 — 20%, Level 3 — 13%, Level 4 — 10%, Level 5 — 7%. The commission is calculated on the platform fee, not the total ride fare.
What is the 2×15 matrix?
IBO (Independent Business Owner) members join a 2-wide × 15-deep forced matrix. New members are automatically placed in available positions — you earn from their activity even without actively recruiting. IBO membership requires a once-off registration fee (R550) and a monthly subscription (R225). See the referral page for full details.
When are referral earnings paid out?
Referral commission is credited to your A2B Lift wallet weekly every Monday for the previous week's activity. You can withdraw your wallet balance to your bank account at any time.

What information does A2B Lift collect?
A2B Lift collects: account information (name, email, phone number), location data during active trips, trip history, payment information (processed securely by Paystack), device information, and communications with drivers or support. For drivers, we also collect identity documents and vehicle information.
How is my location data used?
Location data is used to match you with nearby drivers, calculate fares, and enable trip tracking. We do not sell your location data to third parties. Location collection stops when a trip ends.

Who can use A2B Lift?
A2B Lift is available to individuals 18 years of age or older with a valid South African phone number. The service is currently available within South Africa only.
What behaviour is prohibited?
Users may not: request rides for purposes other than personal transportation, use abusive or threatening language, damage vehicles, request or offer cash payments, or create multiple accounts to abuse promotional offers. Violations may result in permanent account suspension.

Cookies

A2B Lift uses cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and improve trip-booking performance on the website.

Why do you use cookies?
We use essential cookies for authentication, account session continuity, map preferences, referral links, and saved booking states. These help the website keep working between pages and after login redirects.
Can I clear them?
Yes. Clearing browser cookies or local storage will sign you out and remove any saved draft booking details, but it will not delete your A2B Lift account or completed trip history stored on the server.
